With over 36,000 staff in offices throughout Australia, New Zealand and financial centres around the world, Westpac’s HR department was eager to explore the role mobility could play in improving the efficiency of its chaotic and time-consuming onboarding process.

Approach


Tigerspike worked with Westpac’s ‘Garage’ group (an internal team of entrepreneurs) and Westpac HR on a Rapid Design Visualisation engagement. Over 6 weeks we conducted user sessions, developed recommendations, conceptualised two separate experiences and created a working prototype designed to ease the stress and time taken to onboard new starters.

Outcome


The ‘Walk in Working’ responsive mobile solution was fully deployed to employees in June 2015. It accelerates the new starter onboarding process, reducing time by 50%. The solution consists of a dedicated website for hiring managers and a mobile website for new starters. Together, the solution saves hiring managers time and provides new starters with a central location for information.
