Sears & Kmart are iconic American retail brands. Purchased by Kmart in 2005, Sears is the fifth largest American Department store and 12th largest retailer in the US.

Business Need


The business identified purchase conversion as a critical area for improvement across both the Sears and Kmart applications. Originally built as hybrid experiences, Tigerspike was engaged to rebuild the solutions as native applications focusing on key ‘top of funnel’ sections.

Approach


Tigerspike undertook a two-week time-boxed scoping phase which led into a series of development sprints over a 12 week period. Run as an agile project with a fixed delivery date, the teams were able to be flexible with scope based on evolving business priorities. In person sprint demos facilitated rapid troubleshooting and decision making.

Outcome


Delivered on time and on budget, the new Sears and Kmart applications are live. An initial analysis of results has shown an increase in transaction volume.
