New Look is a global fashion retailer, founded in 1969, with 578 stores in the UK and over 270 across Europe, China and Asia.

Business Challenge


Tigerspike were engaged to create a more engaging and intuitive user experience for New Look's iOS e-commerce app and also to provide Android users with a New Look app for the first time. We embarked on the project with a strict deadline, in that the current iOS app contained technology that was due to expire on a set date and a new app had to be released before then.

Approach


We started with a focused Discovery phase to understand the user, technology and business needs that the app needed to address. We quickly created a strictly prioritized feature roadmap and set of requirements and then used an iterative, agile approach to develop new iOS and Android applications, with a viable launch candidate being produced in a matter of weeks.

Outcome


By choosing an approach that allowed us to quickly deliver incremental features, we ensured our deadline was met and that the iOS app stayed in the App store, whilst at the same time allowing New Look to acquire new Android customers. The new app has a slick, redesigned interface and quickly achieved improved customer ratings in the App store.
