Tell me more!

We take our client's visions from concept to release in as little as eight weeks and often work together to evolve products for years.

You’ll gain experience with industries that range from NGOs to government and have the opportunity to drive continuous improvement and development of products. Our projects include native mobile apps and web apps right through to API services and cloud infrastructure hosting.  We experiment with wearables, VR/AR and increasingly IoT devices.

What’s the role?

As a Site Reliability Engineer you’ll be working across our technology stack from cloud through to mobile and web platforms with a focus on reliability and automation.

You’ll be working closely with software engineers and the Service Delivery team to ensure we continuously improve our software and infrastructure assets, meet our SLA’s, and collaborate with our clients.

  • Champion adoption of tools and automation that support improved efficiencies in service delivery.
  • Maintain service monitoring and alarms that have been based upon meaningful business success factors and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate communications with third party vendors as required during incident response or in accordance with managed services agreement.
  • Automate repetitive tasks common to some or all of Tigerspike's Managed Services contracts (e.g. automation of reports, etc)
  • Auditing, curation, and automation of runbooks supporting first and second tier incident responders.

  • Tracking and steadying incident patterns over time and implementing proactive mitigation strategies (reducing TOIL).

What experience and skills do you need?

  • Proven experience across SRE or engineering roles

  • Experience with service monitoring and management tools (e.g New Relic, AWS Cloudwatch, etc)

  • A sharp problem solver with an ability to resolve technical issues and implement proactive mitigation strategies

  • The confidence (and passion) to work in a client facing role

  • Experience with 24/7 support programs where you responded to escalations quickly to minimize customer downtime. This role requires being part of an on-call rotation.

  • Experience with AWS or Azure cloud engineering and administration
