Tigerspike is looking for a talented SysOps Engineer to join our global Technical Operations team. Your role as a SysOps Engineer at Tigerspike will be to work in a highly motivated team responsible for the management, operation and enhancement of the systems and products that underpin Tigerspike's business goals.

This role is highly geared for an individual that comes from a systems administration or application support background and wants to progress into a cloud-focused operations career path. Our engineers need to be able to problem-solve, be self-motivated and be able to contribute to collaborative software projects by sharing their expertise to system designs and deployment processes. 

What's the job?

The SysOps Engineer will:

  • Maintain, document, configure, support and monitor Tigerspike office, deployment and development environments as well as client solutions/environments
  • Develop well-prepared, accurate system and network design documentation
  • Perform assessments of existing network elements and implement design updates as required
  • Contribute and advise on vendor and competitor products to enhance Tigerspike’s service offering
  • Provide emergency support for business-critical systems and network availability 24x7
  • Enrol and contribute to Tigerspikes clients frontline support on a rostered basis
  • Be involved with local infrastructure and support for local offices and regional cloud infrastructure

Who's the SysOps Engineer?

The SysOps Engineer is passionate about maintaining cutting edge relevance in the SysOps/DevOps space and loves attending events and hackathons, reading relevant books and following blogs. On top of that, they have knowledge and experience in the following technologies:

  • 2+ years experience in DevOps, Systems or Application support type positions
  • 1-2 years hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch etc)Windows Server administration (AD, GPO, IIS)
  • Network Administration and support (VPN appliances, NAT servers, Unify)
  • Linux administration
  • Scripting Bash, Python, NodeJs and/or Powershell

Additionally:

  • Experience in Mac OSX Desktop management and support (JAMF)
  • Monitoring/Event management systems (e.g. Nagios, New Relic)
  • CI systems (e.g. Jenkins, BuddyBuild, AWS CodeBuild and CodePipeline )
