Associate Engineering Director, ANZ


Concentrix Tigerspike is looking for an Associate Engineering Director, ANZ to report into our Group Engineering Director and head the Software Engineering function of the business. 

The Associate Engineering Director is the senior leader for the engineering practice in our ANZ region and will be a part of the ANZ leadership team. They will ensure that local ANZ development teams are following global best practices, have adequate tooling and training, and comply with group-level standards. 

Operationally, the Associate Engineering Director’s goal is to find means by which Concentrix Tigerspike’s delivery can either add more value for its customers or be delivered more efficiently. Besides knowledge sharing, this is done by continual assessment of development practices, tools, and frameworks and setting up these frameworks in such a way to mature delivery capacity across all regional offices.

The key focus of this role is the development and continuous improvement of our the ANZ regional engineering team through smart hiring, mentoring, career development, coaching, training and line management of our senior engineers.

About the role:

Reporting to the Group Engineering Director, you will work closely with the local ANZ leadership and Group Technology teams to:

  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in native mobile, web and cloud platform technologies, providing direction to our ANZ engineering teams on making appropriate technology choices, up-skilling, cross-skilling, and training to keep us ahead of the curve in the technologies relevant to our clients’ businesses
  • Lead the recruitment effort for technical roles in the region
  • Ensure that the ANZ region has the right skills and shape to meet the needs of our clients and strategic direction
  • Help Identify candidates for secondment and/or inter-office project co-operation
  • Act as an advocate for the engineering team at a local level and ensure that best practices are consistently followed in all of our delivery teams and that innovation and best practices developed in other locations are adopted in the ANZ region 
  • Work closely with our Security and Compliance teams to ensure security best practices are followed in all of our projects
  • Work alongside our group QA Practice Lead and/or local senior QA team members to ensure proper engineering practices and quality controls remain in place

Your experience includes: 

  • Full-stack development to a senior level on production code in a professional services environment
  • Leading cross-discipline, agile software delivery teams, coaching and mentoring senior technical delivery team members.
  • Working with teams in other timezones
  • Collaborating with off-shore teams to augment your local delivery teams
  • Identification and roll-out of best practice programs in a multi-site environment
  • Delivering projects with a cloud-first mindset
  • Working and consulting closely with clients gaining their confidence and trust
  • A clear understanding of what’s required to operate and support production applications once the initial delivery is complete
  • Project troubleshooting
